As the National Sailing Coach of the PNG team, this scholarship will definitely prepare me better in assisting PNG, as a whole, to deliver a better training program including training young coaches for our future development programs. There are a few people who made the scholarship possible especially the President of PNGYBA, Leigh Ramsdale, Vice President – Tamzin Wardley, The Secretary General of PNGSFOC, Auvita Rapila and Captain Sail RPYC – Andre Fonte and ISAF, who all understood and agreed that attending this scholarship was a step in the right direction.”

Yousuf Al Bastaki from the United Arab Emirates tells us what this means to the UAE, “It’s a great pleasure to be part of the ISAF Training Scholarship. Already the course is providing greater insight and inspiration than expected to help understand the way the world of sailing works and how best to align Vietnam’s priority needs. It is interesting to learn how six other developing countries address their challenges and deliver solutions to progress the sport and safety with a strong focus on realistic and achievable scenarios. Love the way, sailing’s fun and one never stops learning! Look forward to bringing the lessons learnt back to Vietnam.”
