International Sailing Federation has formally accepted Vietnam as the 16th member of Asia (K group). The news is here. This is a historical event and a truly rewarding for the effort of Ms. Julia Shaw and the members at MANTA Sailing Centre in Mui ne as they have introduced sailing at international standard in Vietnam.
The International Sailing Federation (ISAF) has confirmed the Mackay FX has been selected for the Women’s Skiff event at the Rio 2016 Olympic Sailing Competition.
ISAF Council considered the recommendations of the Evaluation Panel, the Equipment Committee and the Events Committee and, after a comprehensive discussion, voted with the majority of members in favour of the Mackay FX.
The Council also approved applications for full member status from Kosovo (Group C) and Vietnam (Group K).
The ISAF Council Mid-Year Meeting continues on Saturday 5 May when the recommendations from the mixed multihull equipment evaluation trials and the kiteboarding format evaluation group will be considered.

Liên đoàn thuyền buồm quốc tế vừa chính thức công nhận Việt Nam trở thành thành viên thứ 16 của châu Á (nhóm K) trong liên đoàn thuyền buồm quốc tế. Cùng với Việt Nam, Kosovo cũng là quốc gia mới gia nhập ở nhóm C. Thông tin này đã được đăng tải trên website chính thức của liên đoàn thuyền buồm quốc tế. Đây là sự kiện mang tính lịch sử và là phần thưởng xứng đáng dành cho những nỗ lực của cá nhân Julia Shaw cũng như tập thể Manta Sailing Centre ở Mũi Né khi họ giới thiệu môn thể thao thuyền buồm một cách bài bản và có tổ chức tại Việt Nam. “Điều này sẽ giúp Việt nam có thể đăng cai tổ chức các sự kiện thuyền buồm một cách chính thức, giúp cho việc quảng bá hình ảnh của đất nước, nâng cao vị thế trong khu vực và hiển nhiên sẽ thu hút ngày càng đông đảo mọi người tham gia bộ môn thuyền buồm”. Shaw cũng nói rằng ngày càng nhiều người Việt Nam nhận ra rằng họ có thể học thuyền buồm từ trung tâm dạy thuyền buồm của cô ở Mũi Né Manta Sailing Centre.
